Mechanical Engineer, P.E. | Conyers

Raymond Engineering seeks a licensed Mechanical Engineer to assist in our new Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) team, supporting our growing federal practice. The Mechanical Engineer will be responsible for working on vertical construction design projects, assist in mentoring and training junior MEP personnel, and work with other companies and team members to meet Army Corps of Engineer and Veteran Affairs project requirements.

Duties of the Project Mechanical Engineer:

  • Work with the customer to determine exact project requirements, constraints, logistics, and feasibility.
  • Lead mechanical project work and take responsibility for overall delivery of MEP projects.
  • Work with and lead a team of engineers and architects to fulfill mechanical discipline projects or project elements through all their phases.
  • Prepares or oversees the preparation of project related documents such as proposals, reports, design drawings and technical specifications; participates and directs mechanical discipline related field services, including surveys, inspections and services during construction.
  • Applies quality control and assurance methodologies to ensure compliance with applicable codes and industry standards.

Requirements of Project Mechanical Engineer:

  • B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • Registration as a PE in Florida, Georgia, North and/or South Carolina with the ability to obtain registrations in these or additional States
  • 5-15 years of professional experience in the fields of HVAC/Plumbing & Fire Protection on industrial, commercial, educational or institutional projects
  • Direct experience in designing mechanical systems for vertical construction
  • Experience in plans production using Revit (AutoDesk) software
  • Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel)
  • Good technical writing skills
  • Medical & Hospital Experience a plus

Revit Drafter / Modeler | Conyers/Savannah – Contingent

Responsibilities

  • Act as REVIT coordinator on projects.
  • Act as REVIT coordinator for drawing standards
  • Prepare advanced Revit details from sketches, marked-up prints, as-built and other reference material under the direction of the Engineering Team.
  • Create final drawings for engineering and construction related purposes and review for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with required standards.
  • Perform basic design calculations under Engineer direction and review.
  • Modify existing drawings to conform with engineering design or construction changes.
  • Maintain regular communication and collaboration with other design team members.
  • Develop to become competent with reviewing construction documents.
  • Participate in customer, project, and design meetings to gather and review project related requirements.

Requirements of the Revit Drafter / Modeler:

  • Possess an Associate’s Degree in Drafting Technology, Computer Drafting and Design, or equivalent.
  • 2+ years of experience in AutoDesk software drafting
  • Demonstrate proficiency with Revit (required).
  • Demonstrate proficiency with AutoCAD (preferred).
  • Able to work with MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint) and Microsoft Visio.
  • Must prioritize effectively, have good follow-through, and practice self-implemented quality control measures.
  • Able to communicate well in writing, as well as verbally.

Medical Project Architect | Conyers/Savannah

We are looking a Project Architect to join our growing architecture team!

Duties of the Medical Project Architect:

Ideal candidate would be able to provide meet with clients and serve as the primary point of contact working on all architecture projects. The candidate can be a generalist with an interest in working with Senior Architects to gain direct expertise and experience, especially in healthcare facilities. ACHA or EDAC certifications preferred.

  • Develops drawings and takes on technically challenging issues with the PM and Customer
  • Ability to handle deadlines
  • Ability to handle clients
  • Perform code and zoning analyses
  • Organizes drawing set and oversees drafters in completing all submissions
  • Produces drawings without supervision
  • Coordinates meetings with consultants as necessary to produce documents
  • Organizes and leads site visits and surveys
  • Takes initiative to complete work and is thorough and detail-oriented
  • Conducts material research and meets with vendors as necessary to understand materials and products
  • Red lines drawings and distributes to drafters

Requirements of the Project Architect:

  • 5+ years experience in Architecture
  • B.S. in Architecture
  • Must be a Registered Architect
  • Ideal: ACHA or EADS certification
  • Ideal: Previous experience working with the Department of Veterans Affairs
  • Ideal: Experience in Healthcare
