Gwinnett County Commission

Gwinnett County, Georgia

Gwinnett County bought an old Wal-Mart facility and converted it to become Gwinnett County Records Management and Elections Office. The architect involved in this project retained Raymond Engineering to provide design and quality assurance inspection services for the roofing portion of this project.

The scope of the project included the tear off of a built-up roof system and installation of a mechanically-fastened single-ply roof. Since this was a complete re-model, it was imperative that we closely coordinate the roofing design with mechanical and electrical renovations that would come through the roof. Additionally, the re-roofing design also had to deal with the removal of most of the existing roof-mounted HUAC units and curbs, and closing the roof openings. All work on this project was completed on time and on budget.

Raymond Engineering typically designs roof systems to comply with International Building Code and Energy Code requirements. Because Gwinnett County is Factory Mutual insured, we additionally met compliance standards for Factory Mutual wind uplift.
