Puerto Rico Caribe Hilton

San Juan, Puerto Rico

Raymond Engineering was a part of a disaster response team paired with a Restoration Contractor which traveled to the project site to assess the condition of the components and cladding and building envelope at a multi-building resort located in San Juan, Puerto Rico. The resort suffered severe damage during Hurricanes Irma and Maria. The visual assessment reports created by our team were to assist the end client (Hilton) in determining the necessary repairs, evaluations, and engineering services to return the hotel to normal operations. The resort consisted of several 1-2 story facilities, a 20-story hotel, 10-story hotel, and two 7-story hotels. Raymond Engineering was able to work with local engineers familiar with the facility and building officials to determine the necessary repairs to the components and cladding and building envelope systems. This initial response team was a part of a projected $50-million+ restoration project still underway at the facility.
